Well, I have been looking for a perfect match for my very first Audi for years now. I had a US model 5000 Turbo, in blue on blue, and now I think I have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Only difference is it is a stick vs my automatic. The auto was actually the death of the car (at 80K miles), and it got stolen out of the transmission shop that had just done the box on it. And now here we are, in front of it’s twin. (below: me in my youth with said Audi)

I am not sure what this is going to go for, usually 200’s are a little out of my price range in Europe. I really hope it stays low. Mine was even faded to the EXACT same hue in the interior

Still has the same rims as mine did

I am dying here. This might be the perfect thing ever, at the worst time for this to come along for me. Waiting to start new job this coming week, just getting the Invicta out and down here next week, Goliath is coming out of the snow this week. Timing just sucks. But I might have to make some moves.

Cool. When I was growing up I had a neighbour with all sorts of old audi’s. I think he scared me away from them, since they were constantly being worked on hahaha.

Whoops my bad. Currently for drinking here, you mast have been born in 1996 or earlier. For me (1987) this is not a problem. But I got ID’d the other day, and I said “man, I have actual memories of 1996.”

I’ve had a beard for 9 years now, why the fuck am I being id’d lol.

this car was pretty solid for being in storage. I bought mine with 57K miles on it in 1996, model year was 81. Broke the timing belt on my way to my senior prom (non interference, I did the belt the day after in the gas station parking lot I left it in), CV axle, A/C service, and I had to have the exhaust welded once. And then the transmission. But I put it through ALOT of abuse. I got clocked at 98 in a 35 in the car, but by the time they caught up to me I was on private property and they couldnt prove who was driving it

Hey man I keep doing it to myself more than anything. Sally was a-ok with bringing one over, her mom gave her a car so she didnt have to worry about it. My previous girl wanted to drag one over as well, but I broke up with her before that could happen. Now I have to find something to put in the container with Duurtlangs 205GTi...

Mmmmm, love me some old Audis. The C2s and C3s are seriously sharp-looking cars; I’ve always thought their styling has aged really well.

My folks had a C3 100 Avant with the third row seats. Fantastic car, but they sold it to buy a Renault Espace, which was nowhere near as fantastic.

yeah it looks a little tough in the footwells with staining, but yeah the cards and seats are fantastic. Better than mine were - having been a smoker back in those days!

huh I dont think I have ever seen a C3 with the 3rd seat, only the C4. Interesting. C2 totally is the best looking IMHO, then the C1, then the C3, then the C4. I still have some uncontrollable lust for a 1st generation Espace too

You’ll get rattling and maybe a timing jump long before it snaps. Guides usually go first.

Good to know. My car used to have quite the rattle but replacing a misfiring coil pack really seemed to clear that up.

Should be good for a while yet then. Just keep an eye out for rattles to catch it early and it’s unlikely it’ll suddenly snap. It can happen but not often without prior symptoms.

You never know, someone might have some OE/replica fabric somewhere! Maybe in Europe? I know people hoard strange BMW seat fabric and make wallets, tote bags, etc. If you grab this example you could totally pay someone to make you pillows!

Nope! It was an 89 with the more powerful 3.5, and a 5 speed! I got so lucky, the next one I buy will be auto and I’ll have to swap it

I always thought the wheels were the same, the only cars that shared them. The parts are sitting at 034 Motorsport, I used to work there and my buddy runs the service department. My old car is now a 20V monster.
